Clinical Toxinology Educational Program (CTEP)
Introduction
The Clinical Toxinology Educational Program (CTEP) was established in 2014 following the 3rd International Symposium on ASEAN Marine Animals & Snakes Envenoming (AMSEM). Initially designed as a short elective module for final-year postgraduate Emergency Medicine trainees, the program was established in collaboration with the Remote Envenomation Consultation Services (RECS) Malaysia, the Malaysian Society on Toxinology (MST), the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute (QSMI), the Ramathibodi Poison Center, and Chulalongkorn University Hospital.
Building on the success of the inaugural event, the 2nd CTEP was organized in 2017, expanding its reach to all AMSEM participants and postgraduate students. The 3rd CTEP 2019 includes an educational visit to the Siam Serpentarium. To optimize the learning experience and foster an engaging, interactive environment, participation is capped at 30 attendees. Today, CTEP has become an integral component of the AMSEM initiative. It is held biennially, typically organized in the months following the AMSEM International Symposium.
